Pharrell Replaces Late Ghanaian Virgil Abloh As Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director 

Legendary singer and producer Pharrell Williams has been named as the new men’s creative director for Louis Vuitton.

Pharrell replaces Virgil Abloh, the American-Ghanaian former men’s creative director who died in 2021.

Abloh died after suffering a rare case of cancer.

He was the first Black American to be named to the position by Louis Vuitton and the company followed that up with a similar appointment.

“Louis Vuitton is delighted to welcome Pharrell Williams as its new Men’s Creative Director. His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris,” the company announced in a statement.

“Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years.
