No One Should Be Jailed Over A Phone – Meek Mill Petitions IGP To Release Suspected Pickpocket Who Stole His Phone

American rapper, Meek Mill, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare, to release the suspected pickpocket who allegedly stole his phone.

According to Meek, he doesn’t need anyone to be jailed over his phone going missing!

The rapper is in Ghana for some business and pleasure and was welcomed to the motherland by thieves picking his pocket after his set at the Afrochella Day 2 concert.

Meek was mobbed by fans whilst leaving the event ground and later discovered his phone was missing.

He sent out a call on social media for the phone to be returned to him – and it magically was!

Police arrested a suspect and recovered the phone which he got back.

However, Meek now says he can’t even be sure the phone was stolen and he could have dropped it whilst biking.

He called on authorities to let the suspect go.

“I coulda dropped that phone on a dirt bike. I don’t actually know for a fact somebody went in my pocket! I got it back that’s all I needed I don’t need anybody locked up for a phone,” Meek wrote on Twitter.

He later released a video expressing gratitude over the phone’s recovery.
