Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Deputy General Secretary, Nana Obiri Boahen, has described Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as the greatest politician this country has ever seen.
As the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) debate in association football has intensified over the past few weeks due to the 2022 Fifa World Cup and the exploits of a certain Lionel Andre Messi, Boahen says in Ghana’s politics, Bawumia is the undisputed GOAT.
He made the comments during an interview on AKOMA Fm, Kumasi.
“When the NPP lifts the ban (on campaigning for the party’s flagbearership position), I will be bringing a man called Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time). Bawumia, the GOAT.
“He (Dr Bawumia) is the only person in Ghana being awarded by the Pan African Magazine as one of the most influential people in Africa. Bawumia, the GOAT.
“I am saying what I have seen. Whether the dollar is appreciating, depreciating or is stable, Bawumia is the GOAT. When the time comes, we will be giving you more details,” he said in Twi.
Nana Obiri Boahen has been a staunch supporter of the NPP Vice President and has declared in the past that Bawumia would become President of Ghana and later, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
Meanwhile, Ghanaian football coach, Isaac Opeele Boateng, has also described Dr Bawumia as the Economic GOAT.
Reacting to the Ghanaian cedi appreciating against the dollar within the past few weeks as well as the drop in fuel prices, ‘Opeele’ placed all the praise Dr Bawumia.
Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote: “The Greatest Head of Ghana Economic Management team ever Vice Prez Dr Bawumia is economic G.O.A.T. Now the ‘Economic Mourinho’ has brought the dollar down to $1 to GH7 within a week,”
Opeele added: “If we don’t plead Bawumia will make it $1 to GH1. Dr please we have lost enough we beg you,”
