A founding member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has described Tiger Eye PI journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, as a ‘fake’ investigative journalist.
Speaking with Accra-based Joy 99.7 Fm, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe questioned the methods of Anas‘ investigations, describing his modus operandi as more ‘enticing’ and ‘entrapment’ than textbook journalism.
The veteran politician said in his estimation, that does not make Anas a real investigative journalist.
“I have made it clear that I personally don’t believe Anas. I don’t believe he is an investigative journalist. An investigative journalist does his works in such a way that all the points that he got are so important to him that no one ever hears about it,” he said.
Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe questioned why Anas Aremeyaw Anas after working on this documentary, then gives it out to the government first before airing it to the public.
“The first thing he should do is to release it to the public, in the public hall or something.

“But here we have a situation where this particular investigative journalist when he comes out with something, makes sure it’s seen by the leaders of the country before it gets to the public.
“His last investigative work, the names of the President and the Vice President came in. What has happened? We should stop the sort of thinking that the people of this country are fools”, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe stressed.
The rant comes after Anas aired his most recent exposé. ‘Galamsey Economy’, in which former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen, was implicated in corruption.
Adu Boahen, after having bundles of US dollars spread on a table in front of him and told to use it for shopping by undercover Tiger Eye PI investigators posing as investors, promised to introduce the investors to the powers that be; the President, HE Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, and the Vice President, in Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo fired Boahen in the wake of the exposé whilst the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, denied any knowledge of Adu Boahen’s grandiose claims.
Following the exposé, a conversation has sprung up once again over the methods of Anas, with many Ghanaians calling him out for entrapping his victims.
