Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye, the young Ghanaian actor known as Strika, has revealed that his current accommodations are nothing to write home about.
According to Strika, if anyone sees where he’s forced to sleep, they will weep for him.
The young actor became popular in Ghana following his appearance in Beasts of No Nation, the Hollywood blockbuster starring Idris Elba that was filmed in Ghana.
Beasts was about child soldiers in a war and Adom played Strika, whilst colleague young actor Abraham Attah played the co-protagonist Agu.
Following the remarkable success of the movie, Abraham Attah won global awards and received a chance to travel to the United States, where he remains and is currently schooling and acting.
Strika fell back into the streets and into a life of drug addiction and truancy.
He claims the proceeds from his appearance in the movie never made their way to him and he has been forced back into the role of a street boy.
Recently, he was spotted selling coconuts and in a new video, Strika speaks about the difficulties of his life.
He says aside from his difficulty finding accommodation, he works as a carpenter’s apprentice and has to rely on his master to feed him.
Strika said he’s suffering and he currently needs someone to manage him to get him back to acting and help him make some money.
