Hushpuppi was arrested in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in June 2020, following an extensive investigation and surveillance by multiple law enforcement agencies.

He was involved in an extensive fraud scheme that robbed victims of their money in the U.S, Qatar, the United Kingdom, and other places.

Following his arrest, Hushpuppi was extradited to the United States to face trial.

He was facing up to 20 years in prison but received an 11-year jail term at his sentencing hearing.
