Learn To Write and Stop Covering Other People’s Songs – Veteran Gospel Singer Cindy Thompson Rips Rising Singer Achiaa into Shreds

The aggrieved singer wrote a lengthy caption detailing her disapproval of Achiaa’s covers, saying she should write her own songs.

In her opinion, covering other people’s songs won’t take Achiaa anywhere.

Check out Cindy’s post below.

On the contrary, while Cindy’s protest is quite understandable, it is not entirely true that she won’t achieve anything with her covers.

For one, she has shown that she has talent, and while she may not have written her own songs, covering other people’s songs is what most Ghanaian gospel musicians do.

In the secular space, the likes of Nana Fofie, Kwesi Arthur, and so many more were all discovered after doing covers of existing songs.

The difficulty with his issue is that it might feel as though Achiaa has been singled out as a scapegoat.

Dang, several mainstream gospel artists copy word-for-word songs of other people and do not even credit the owners.
