Politician Joe Ghartey Causes Stir At Daughter’s Wedding As He Rejects Bride Price

NPP politician Hon Joe Ghartey has handed his daughter’s hand in marriage!

The Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan married off his daughter Ewurama Ghartey to one Ghanaian man in a colourful ceremony.

Contrary to the norm, Mr Joe Ghartey refused the bride price for his daughter’s hand in marriage.

The MP noted in the presence of the guests that he was only interested in a ring and bibble for his daughter.

Hence the usual list presented by one’s family for the groom to honour as part of the custom was not carried out.

The politician after properly seeking his daughter’s consent for the marriage shared a piece of advice with the couple and blessed them for their union.

On why he refused to follow the custom, Mr Joe Ghartey disclosed he married his wife under the same condition and so he decided to follow suit.
