Kutin Gyimah, a yellow cab driver, died after being beaten up by passengers in Queens who attempted to rob him.
Authorities say the violent attack happened at approximately 6:30 am on Saturday near Beach 54th Street and Arverne Boulevard.
The police responded to an ongoing assault; they discovered the 52-year-old motorist lying in the road, traumatized in the back of his head.
Kutin Gyimah was sent to St. John’s Hospital, where he died.
According to the NYPD, a preliminary investigation found that the 52-year-old was driving an NYC taxi minivan with numerous passengers.
To clarify, Gyimah was hit, causing him to fall and hit his head.
Subsequently, three men and two women assaulted the driver, and the fatal incident was filmed.
As a result, a GoFundMe fundraiser has already been set up to assist the family with the funeral.
Most importantly, the campaign will cover burial costs, living expenses, and his four children’s educational futures.
Additionally, Kutin Gyimah was one of the few drivers who operated a cab during the difficult days of the pandemic.
