Vice President Dr Bawumia was mobbed by supporters and the youth after commissioning a few projects in the Ashanti Region.
The projects were undertaken under the Zongo Development Fund (ZDF) in three separate communities.
Bawumia unveiled fully furnished classroom blocks, a water system, and a Community Sports and Social Centre as part in Asokore (Asokore Quranic Islamic School), and Effiduase (Hamdaniya Islamic School), both in the Sekyere East District and at Bantama in the Kumasi Metropolis.
The commissioning formed part of a two-day working visit to the Region by the Veep.
Bawumia was mobbed by enthusiastic recipients of the projects at each stop on his tour.
In a conscious bid to bridge the gap in Zongo communities, the government has undertaken projects through the Zongo Development Fund.
This positive intervention has improved health facilities, sanitation, and human resource development through skills training and educational grants and also improved the ambience, and visibility in developing communities.
The visit comes after the Vice President notched another cap in his digitalisation agenda by launching Africa’s first e-pharmacy.
The e-pharmacy is to improve the distribution of medication through digitalisation and is Africa’s first fully nationalised e-pharmacy.
