U.S President Joseph R. Biden has tesed positive for COVID-19, the White House announced Thursday, July 21st 2022.
A statement from the White House announced the diagnosis of the President, who has already started treatment and is said to be doing well.
“This morning, President Biden tested positive for COVID-19,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement, adding that the president is fully vaccinated and twice boosted.

She continued that he’s started an antiviral treatment with the drug Paxlovid.
“Consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” Jean-Pierre added.
The President took to Twitter to also announce his diagnosis in a cheerful tone.
“Folks, I’m doing great. Thanks for your concern. Just called Senator Casey, Congressman Cartwright, and Mayor Cognetti (and my Scranton cousins!) to send my regrets for missing our event today. Keeping busy!” he wrote.
The oldest ever U.S President at 79, Biden is reportedly feeling fine and is expected to resume his duties once he’s tested negative.
