Abrantie Amakye Dede, a legend in the Ghanaian music industry, has explained on live television why musicians must smoke weed before performing on any stage.
Before we continue, it is imperative to note that weed is not yet legalized in Ghana, and possession of it can land a person behind bars.
Highlife legend Amakye Dede on the other hand believes musicians smoking weed before going on stage to perform does not make them bad people.

In his opinion, smoking weed doesn’t make one a bad person but what the person does after smacking determines if he is bad or not. He preached on live television that the above perception should be wiped off and an open mind must be used to approach the topic of smoking weed.
Explaining why he will advise musicians to smoke weed before going on stage to perform, Amakye Dede says it brings up unexplainable energy that allows the said musician to perform for long.
He however stated that he does not smoke the narcotic substance and didn’t like it the first time he tried but that does not stop him from speaking about its qualities.
Amakye Dede told Nana Aba Anamoah, that it is about time the government considers legalizing the substance as it is fetching other countries billions in revenue.
