Sika Aba Fie – Fans Push Obrafour To Sue Drake After Sampling One Of His Classic Songs

Multiple award-winning Canadian rapper Drake has got Ghanaians talking after he sampled a classic song from Obrafour in one of his latest tracks.

Drake released his seventh studio album called Honestly, Nevermind as a follow-up to last year’s Certified Lover Boy album.

The 14 songs LP included a song which had a sample of Obrafour’s song in it was released late Thursday, hours after announcing it on social media.

One song on the 14-track LP titled Calling My Name had excerpts of a line “Kill a Cat blood, Kill a Cat” which was an introduction in Obrafour’s Song released in the late 2000s.

Social media users and fans of Obrafour are calling the artist out to ask if Drake asked for permission before sampling his song.

Others who doubt the BET Award winner reached out are advising Obrafour to take advantage and sue Drake for copyright infringement so he can cash out.

“Drake sampled Obrafuor in his latest album? Where are Obrafuor’s lawyers? Sika aba fie.” a tweep wrote.

Music producer King Of Accra also had this to say, “If it is true (because I don’t know) then you have to ask @iamobrafour maybe he is aware and has been paid already. If not then ofcourse it can be taken on for compensation if he did not grant the use of the said sample.”
