Popular Ghanaian Reggae/dancehall musician Sonnie Balli has been confirmed dead by close friends and family.
Confirming the news on the 3FM Drive with Giovani, Mark Darlington said the musician who has been living in the United Kingdom suffered a cardiac arrest and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Speaking about the death on the 3FM Drive, Mark said he spoke to Sonnie Bali on Monday when the musician was celebrating his 40th birthday.
“I still don’t want to believe he is dead because I spoke to him just this Monday. We talked about some songs which have been in the studio for long and even planned on releasing it on a specific date,” he said with a shivering voice.

The Ghanaian music producer and talent manager based in the United Kingdom first announced the death of Sonnie Balli on his Facebook post.
Mark Darlington wrote, “SONNI BALLI How could you do this bro! I wished you a happy birthday just this past Monday! This is not fair! I am devastated and heartbroken! How????
Sonniballi RaggaDon is gone!!!”
Sonny Kwabena Amoako Akoanor was born in Accra Ghana he was the first of three children.
