An incident happened at the NPP Delegates’ conference in Kumasi that nearly turned the jubilations of Bernard Antwi Boasiako, aka Chairman Wontumi, into mourning.
Chairman Wontumi retained his position For the third time as the Ashanti Regional Chairman for the governing New Patriotic Party, beating his opponent in a landslide victory.
In a spirit of celebration, Chairman Wontumi lost his grip on his car and accidentally run into some supporters at the NPP delegates’ conference.

He was filmed standing through the sunroof in his vehicle to wave at his supporters who had gathered at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Saturday, 28 May 2022.
Excited Wontumi tried to get back into his car, only to lose control and run into supporters who had to flee for dear life.
He quickly pulled the breaks to a very the impending danger in the video of the accident was shared on social media.

No casualties were recorded at the scene although some supporters are feared to have sustained injuries.
