Sherif won the Best New Artiste award at the 23rd edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) held the night of Saturday, May 7th 2022.

He beat S3fa, Mona4Real and other acts to win the honour.
Black Sherif rushed the stage after being announced the winner and made sure to express gratitude.
He thanked his Road Boys in a heartfelt speech onstage.
Sherif also thanked his mother and all mothers out there.
The speech looked targeted at quelling rumours of Sherif being ungrateful after his recent contract saga.
