The Black Stars of Ghana were held to a thrilling 0-0 draw by the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the first leg World Cup qualifier.
The hugely engaging 90-minutes battle ended in a stalemate, leaving the tie evenly balanced ahead of the second leg.
Ghana and Nigeria would do final battle for a World Cup spot Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 in Nigeria.
The Black Stars of Ghana were coming off a hugely disappointing Afcon tournament where they were bounced out of the first round.

The team were also missing skipper Andre Ayew due to suspension.
Nigeria were one of the form teams in the early parts of the African Cup and were generally considered the better team at this time.
The new-look Black Stars under coach Otto Addo and technical director Chris Hughton came out guns blazing from kick-off.
Ghana kept the ball well and pinned Nigeria back to their half, even without threatening.
The Super Eagles‘ game plan was clear, to soak the pressure and hit Ghana on the break with the pace and power of Victor Osimhen and Moses Simon.
However, the Stars weathered any such breaks with ease.
Chances in the game were few and far between, but Ghana got her first shot on target from a Fatawu Issahaku screamer from outside the box.
The second half continued in much the same way, with the most exciting moment being a penalty denied Nigeria after a VAR check.
The game went on to a goalless stalemate, leaving both teams with all to do in the second leg Tuesday.
