Ghana’s entertainment industry witnessed a series of sad event from the last quarter of 2021 to the beginning of 2022.
Many celebrities announced the death of their fathers or mothers in a space of 4 months.
While some of these celebrities could not hold back their tears, others decided to clinge to memories of how their fathers played a role in shaping the personalities they have become.

Controversial Ghanaian actress and personality, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaya, also called Afia Schwarzenegger disclosed the death of her father with an emotional post on social media.
Her father kicked the bucket on January 17, 2022 after battling cancer for sometime.
Loaing her father broke Afia to the core because he was about the only person she was very close with, aside her kids.
In an emotional post the popular comedienne wrote; “My hero has gone to be with the Lord. Rest in Peace Daddy. I’m lost.”
The one week memorial was held on January 25, 2022 to celebrate the memory of elate father and it was attended by many celebrities.
Official date for the final burial rites is set to happen on March 11-13th in Ashanti Regional Capital, Kumasi.
Shocking as it may sound, Mzbel, the Arch adversary of Afia Schwarzenegger also lost her ‘Muslim’ father on January 28, 2022– few days after Afia lost hers.
Mzbel did not take the bitter news lightly as she was on air hosting her radio show when she got the message.
She quickly ended her radio broadcast and rushed out of the studio saying she has to see her late father before they bury him.
Popular comedian and video vixen called SDK lost his father on November 21, 2022 after he fought with an unannounced ailment for a long while.
SDK’s father featured in most of the comedians’ skit and was considered hilarious character by most Ghanaians.
Sharing the sad news of his father on the microblogging platform, he wrote;
“Lost my dad today, rest in peace my oldgee,” he wrote.

Actress Gloria Sarfo moved many to tears few weeks ago with the announcement of the death of her mother on February 11, 2022.
In a post on her Instagram page, the Efiewura actress questioned God why he took her mother after days of prayer begging him to save her.
Ghanaian actress and TV presenter, Vicky Zugah lost her mother on January 11.
She revealed in an Instagram post that her mum has been ill for about five years and she hoped for a miracle that never happened.
“For five years you fought. For five years I waited for a miracle. For five years you held on. Today you gave up on me and my siblings,” Vicky wrote. The post came with a picture of her mum.
