In a thread, a Twitter user with the handle @NaaKamara has shared an interesting story about gold discovered in Akim Bomso.

This story happened in December 2021 when an old lady purportedly stumbled upon gold chips on her walk path in the town.

According to the threaded story, overwhelmed with greed, the old woman decided to keep her discovery a secret.

She broke the gold chips piece by piece and sold the end product through the young men in the rural town.

Remarkably, when asked where she got the chips of gold, she directed the young men to the wrong places where they would go and dig in vain.

After selling chips of gold in excess of 5,000 Ghana Cedis, she discovered a bigger goldstone which she couldn’t easily take out from the ground. She needed assistance.

Greed, indeed, is the fastest way down the slope.

Expected to inform her two sisters whom she stayed with, she went for the right tool, broke a large chunk of rock mixed with gold and went home.
