Ghana would have been smiling and majestically walking towards winning a Grammy award if the list of international collaborations Shatta Wale claimed to be on his Gift Of God album was true.
After he was released from prison, Shatta granted an interview on Pure FM and disclosed that his Gift of God album had delayed because multiple Grammy Award winning singers Beyonce and Rihanna were yet to send their verses on their song with him.
Shatta Wale’s yet to be released GOG album would have been the biggest album from Ghana and west Africa, hopefully grabing him a Grammy award because the features on it are all heavyweight.
His words brought excitement among many folks giving that he had already worked with Beyonce on her Lion King album and invested his royalties into ‘something big’, according to him.
The release of the song titled ‘Already ‘ and its music video placed the African dancehall artiste at a tipping advantage among fans of both him and Beyoncé.
The video for the song reached over 16 million views on YouTube just a week after being released and skyrocketed to a crazy number after the release of the Lion King movie.
Shatta Wale was quoted by many blogs to have said in the interview on Pure FM that the two Grammy winners haven’t finished with their verses yet although he sent the song to them about 5 months ago.

“I haven’t told anyone this but the reason why my GOG album has been delayed is that Rihanna and Beyoncé are not done with their verses on some of the two songs I featured. When they’re done, hopefully, I will release the album
“This is the first time I’m speaking to any media house after my release from prison and I’ve decided to not grant any radio interview for a while but I couldn’t resist not answering the call because of Oliver Khan my Boss. He is the first person who loaned me money to produce my first album.”
Rumours from his camp also suggested that American rapper Meek Mill and Dancehall president, Vybz Kartel are all featured acts on the album.
Wale in an invited comment disclosed that he has been busy working on another dream collaboration which would be a song with him and Vybz Kartel.
The SM Boss also disclosed in the same interview that the album will be his last project in his music career as he will shift his attention to other aspects of life like growing a family and starting businesses after its release.
He hinted that he will retire from music after releasing the GOG album.
It would have been a big feat in the career of Shatta Wale and a great news for Ghana’s entertainment industry but per our sources, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr aka Shatta Wale lied again—and that is disappointing.
