George Akuffo-Dampare was appointed acting IGP by President Akufo-Addo when the immediate past IGP, James Oppong-Boanuh was asked to start his terminal leave with effect from 1st August 2021 pending his retirement.

Since his appointment, the IGP has been hailed for injecting so much confidence back into the police force. For this, he has been called so many wonderful names and attributed to several accolades.

Earlier today, a police officer who appeared in a viral video on social media supposedly drunk to stupor has been interdicted by the police force.

In the viral video, the policeman clad in police uniform was walking in an unstable pattern as onlookers on the streets of Cape Coast rebuked him.

See below the cringeworthy video.

Almost immediately, the Ghana Police service shared an official statement to announce the interdiction.

The actions of the policeman have come as a shock to Ghanaians because it disregards the ethics and principles upheld by the Service.
