AFCON, the healing wound Ghana continues to bruise.
It was meant to be a football match we won’t forget in a hurry. Indeed, it won’t be forgotten for years to come.
A lot was said. Every possible odd was set to gamble, but roses are still red, and it’s clear Ghana is up to either cause an upset or suffer a major upset.
Fortunately, some fans are confident the Black Stars will survive this scare.
After today’s game between the gallant Black Stars of Ghana and the Atlas Lions of Morocco, it ended 1-0 in favour of the latter.
This is not the first time the North African country has beaten Ghana. Ghana was defeated with that exact scoreline in a friendly in 2021. However, Ghana beat the Moroccans twice in 2007 and 2008, while drawing level in 2002.
We are no experts, but it is obvious that modern football has changed significantly since Ghana lifted an AFCON trophy.
More so, Morocco continues to produce some of football’s greatest talents, and now they have two consecutive wins against Ghana to prove we are not all that.
Everyone talked a good game but failed to act.
And now, it is what it is.
