Ghanaian dancehall musician Samini has said in a recent video that no musician in his genre can disrespect him because they know he is their lord.
Samini disclosed that even Shatta Wale, the most followed dancehall musician in the country, bows to his greatness.
Bragging in a yet-to-air interview with Abeiku Santana, the self titled African Dancehall King said Shatta Wale could not stand in a lyrical battle between them.
He said fans of Shatta Wale were booing him off stage when he began performing but 5 minutes into his performance the entire stadium were on their feet roaring out lyrics of his song.
“Shatta Wale just does but has nothing to show and he knows that he’s not my size when it comes to music which is something he and his fans have to accept,” Samini said.
Samini boldly added that there is never going to be an instant where he is spotted in a room full of dancehall musicians and he will be disrespected because the musicians know who their leader is, which is him.
Answering why Shatta Wale is more popular and has more following than him, Samini said Ghanaians are to be blamed because they prefer wack stuff to good lyrical content.
He sighted an example that Epixode sang about the hardship in the country but the song didn’t get as much attention as Cecilia Marfo’s ‘Washawasay’ viral song.
His example was to cement that he sings better songs than Shatta Wale but Ghanaians love ‘foolish’ songs.
