Maxell Mannesmann narrated how he was forced to work in a brothel as a male prostitute in Russia for years just to survive.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with DJ Nyaami on SVTV, Maxwell said he travelled on a government scholarship to further his education but his scholarship was cancelled without reason, leaving him stranded in Russia.

He spoke on how he traded in all forms of business including selling illicit drugs to working as a prostitute in the 80s in Russia to put food in his belly and a roof over his head.

“It was one of those government scholarships that got cancelled a year into the program. We got kicked out of school and most of the colleagues had the money to buy their tickets back home. Some of us didn’t have the money and had to struggle through,” he said.

“I didn’t fully know what the job was but they asked for people to work with and I joined. They gave me a two-bedroom flat. I’ve got a bicycle and I have to ride to different houses, collect the money, sign for it, and move on,” he added.

Maxwell revealed that Ghana’s president that year, the late president JJ Rawlings, gave an opportunity for stranded Ghanaian citizens to return to Ghana but he had no money to afford a ticket back home.

He added that he spent another year engaging in the act and then decided to migrate to Germany for better options.

Since he had no legal papers to travel safely, Maxwell said he hid in the boot of a truck for about four months to get to his destination.

He now owns properties and lives happily with his family.
