Fans of Stonebwoy have descended en masse on ex-UK High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin after calling out their darling.
Stonebwoy was in the UK over the weekend where he performed for a capacity crowd at the O2 Academy, Islington.
As usual, whenever a Ghanaian artiste performs somewhere outside the country, we’re told how they ‘shut down’ wherever they were, irrespective of whether they performed to 100 or 1,000 people.
It’s always about ‘shutting down’.
Hitz Fm’s Twitter handle did the same thing when they shared a video of Stonebwoy’s performance in the U.K.
According to them, Stonebwoy shut down the entire UK – the entire United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! – by performing to a small arena somewhere in Islington.
Hitz Fm wrote on Twitter: “A video of @stonebwoy shutting down U.K — 02 Academy Islington. #AnlogaJunctionUKTour,”
Jon Benjamin upon chancing on that post could not hold back and decided to clap back at the description.
According to him, you cannot say you’re shutting down the UK when you’re performing in an arena with 800 capacity which wasn’t even totally sold out.
Benjamin quote mentioned Hitz’s tweet and retorted: “Shutting down the UK”? The O2 Academy Islington has a capacity of 800,”
That simple retort seemed to have burned into the psyche of BHIM nation fans to fire at him with insults all over the place.
For speaking facts, Benjamin has been bombarded with attacks from all angles.

Man, those fans are bleeding! Stonebwoy did not shut down the UK and it’s not a crime to say that.
