Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr. aka Shatta Wale has pleaded to the Inspector General of Police to allow some room for celebrities to freely live their lives without looking back at the laws.

On behalf of all celebrities in Ghana, Shatta Wale begged that the entire police force should consider the status of entertainers and allow them live their artistic life without any stigmatization.

Shatta Wale said this in a brief interview with the press after the creative art industry met with the IGP and the Ghana Police Service yesterday.

The dancehall musician stated that some Ghanaians are still dwelling on the precolonial mentality that the appearance of a person determines his worth and character.

He disclosed that some police officers have such thinking which needs to be corrected because it stifles the creativity of entertainers.

Shatta’s words were true. Many celebrities have reported on their pages how they were stopped, searched and most times harassed because of how they look but without such brands, there will be no entertainers.
