Directed by German Filmmaker-York-Fabian Raabe, ‘Borga’, a film that tells both the tragic and exciting story of a young Ghanaian who becomes a quintessential Germany-based ‘Borga’ is scheduled to be premiered in Accra this Christmas—with thrilling screen goodies.
Starring the multiple award-winning actress-Christiane Paul, it is Eugene Boateng’s excellent play of ‘Kojo’ that drives the ‘Borga’ story across two continents and told in a distinctive manner—and yet does not leave behind the acquainted smug ‘Borga’ antics.
Already, Eugene Boateng’s performance in ‘Borga’ has won the Best Lead Actor at the German Actors Guild Awards. And he is the first black person to ever win this award.
The film also stars Adjetey Anang, Lydia Forson, Ekow Blankson, Martin Stange and others.
The film cuts for a perfect holiday movie which a group of friends or family can enjoy, and therefore its scheduled premiere in Accra this December is well placed.
‘Borga’ is better—but is it really worth the sacrifice? That’s an important chop of the conversation the film boldly explores.
