The Ghanaian media space has been dominated by issues about LGBTQI in the last few weeks as Parliament deliberates on passing a law to criminalise the act.
International media and different personalities across the globe have waded in the war happening in Ghana with varied opinions.
Nigerian actor Jim Iyke has thought it wise to add his voice to the pool of opinions flooding Ghana.
Jim Iyke has been in the country for a while promoting his latest movie and is well informed on issues happening around him.
During one of his radio tours in the country, the actor was asked his views and he dropped an unexpected response.
Jim Iyke said he does not understand why the LGBTQI community in Africa will be met with hatred.
In his heart, no one was placed on earth to decide how someone lives their life so no one has the right to direct persons practising LGBTQ on their sexuality.
Jim Iyke stressed that as long as their lives do not impede on the basic rights of anyone, he doesn’t see why people should be judging them.
He added that in Ghana, the country is occupied by mostly Christians yet they judge and condemn which is against their doctrines.
According to Jim Iyke, no one, especially Christians, should feel entitled to judge members of the LGBTQI community.
The actor said Jesus, the leader of the Christain faith, did not come for perfect people but to save the unholy, a category which LGBTQI persons fall under.
