Davido Reveals Tricks Nigerians Used To Make their Music Popular Globally – Video

Davido has shared measures Nigerians took to establish their music industry and dominate the world with their sounds.

Speaking in an interview with Trevor Noah, the ‘Jowo’ singer highlighted some of the things they did in secret and public for their music to be accepted globally.

If you’ll confess, almost every international stage has been graced by a Nigerian artiste and in recent times, their names have been resonating in foreign lands more than any other African country.

It looks as if the world is chasing after Nigerians while other musicians from neighboring countries are striving to establish their brands in the foreign market.

According to Davido, it was a deliberate plan by Nigerians to dominate the music scene globally and they followed their plan to the letter.

He disclosed that one major plan they executed was taking advantage of their numbers and forced DJs and radio stations to play songs recorded by Nigerian artistes.

Using himself as an example, Davido said he began selling out shows in the states single-handedly because Nigerians living in the states came in their numbers to support.

He said he was a household name and his songs were played in the clubs because his fans intentionally tip the DJs huge sums of money to play.

Reacting to this news, Ghanaian rapper D-Black wished fans in Ghana could also emulate and make their artistes brag about them like how Davido did.

D-Black spoke at length about the support Ghanaians give to their musicians and begged them to do better so they could also dominate the music scene.

He tweeted, “It’d be nice & beautiful for a Ghanaian artist to say similar but alas some say they don’t owe the Ghanaian artist anything . I hope their customers feel the same way in their daily endeavors & chosen career paths. We shall still shine with the ones that support & believe”
