Josephine Panyin Mensah, the 28-year-old Takoradi woman has confessed to the police that she was not pregnant or was never kidnapped as viral news reported.
Josephine, according to new reports, has pleaded with the Police not to prosecute her for lying about her pregnancy and allegedly faking her kidnap.
She admitted to not being pregnant with Police psychologists and Health workers at Effia Nkwanta Hospital in the Western Region on Friday, Police sources informed the press.
Josephine Payin Mensah has now been sent to the Takoradi Central Police Station for further investigation.
This new development rubbishes earlier reports including a statement from the aide to the regional minister which said the minister paid ghc3000 for the release of Josephine.
The Ghana Police Service released a statement detailing Madam Josephine Panyin Mensah’s confession to the investigation team that she was never kidnapped.
