Photos of the grandaughter of Ghana’s first President Osagyefo Doctor Kwame Nkrumah, Princess Fathia, has hit the web as we celebrate Nkrumah day in Ghana.
Today, 21st September 2021, happens to be a holiday in Ghana.
The holiday, dubbed Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day, is to celebrate the birthday of Ghana’s first President and leader of the independence struggle, Dr Nkrumah.
Nkrumah fought the colonial government of the United Kingdom and never rested until they were kicked out and Ghana become an independent constitutional republic.
Initially, the holiday was called ‘Founder’s Day’, but the NPP government had it changed to Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Day.

They don’t like it too much when Kwame Nrumah is credited as the founder of independent Ghana.
As we celebrate this day, a granddaughter of Nkrumah has popped up online to celebrate her grandfather.
