A Ghanaian student undertaking his PhD course at the Arizona State University has died barely a month after gaining admission.
Adam Gafaru reportedly drowned in a swimming pool incident.
Hee gained admission for a scholarship into the university to read his PhD in Biochemistry this year. He started classes on August 19th, 2021.
Barely a month later, on Monday, September 13th, he drowned when he went swimming in a pool on the University campus.
News of his passing has shocked those who knew him, throwing social media into mourning.
Gafaru completed the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in 2020 with first-class honours.
Unfortunately after landing his dream to study abroad, his life has been cut short.
May he rest in peace.
Gafarus death comes in eerily similar fashion to another Ghanaian who died in the U.S this year.
A Ghanaian engineer in the United States, Andrew Amuna, died via drowning in a truly shocking turn of events back in July.
