Multiple BET Award winning rapper Sarkodie has asserted that his journey to stardom and global domination is as a result of his hard work and talent but not support from Ghanaians.
In the ‘bloated’ head of Micheal Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie, he would have still become a superstar regardless the support he received from his home, Ghana.
Sarkodie told the host on One Play Africa that he prepared extensively for his career and had everything in place to help him excel gracefully.

He added that he will not rubbish to supports he gets from loyal fans in Ghana but he believes that support comes because he earned it.
“When people say it is Ghanaians who made me who you are, I don’t deny it. Funnily enough, I wouldn’t have quit either.“
“I do this not because i get all the support. There are a lot of people who do not support me or like what I do. When Ghanaians say they have been supporting for 10 years, it is not.” King Sark was heard saying in the interview.

Knowing very well he will be attacked if what he said surfaces online, Sarkodie said never in his career has he paid attention to people who criticize or write him off.
He said he has trained himself to be his own motivation and does not rely on the energy his supposed fans give out.

In the same interview, Sarkodie said Ghanaians are quick to kick legends out the door unlike their neighboring country like Nigeria who hold their icons in high esteem.
