A set of brilliant Ghanaian twins have gained admission into the two most prestigious British universities, Oxford and Cambridge – at the same time.
The pair, Emmanuel and Ebenezer Boakye, passed their A-levels with distinction and promptly gained admission into the two institutions of higher learning.
According to the BBC, the duo earned top marks in their exams – a combined six A*s and one A at Hackney’s Mossbourne Community Academy.
Emmanuel would now go on to study English Literature at Oxford University whilst his brother, Ebenezer, studies Spanish and Russian at Cambridge University.
Emmanuel was initially planning to attend Cambridge with his brother but later changed his mind after attending an event by the Oxford University African Caribbean Society.
That led him to apply and receive admission to Oxford whilst his brother retained his Cambridge dream.
“We’re still going to support each other at our different universities,” Ebenezer told the BBC.
The siblings reportedly grew up in a single-parent household in the London borough of Hackney, catered for by their mon.
They say they want to make her proud.
“We’ve always had people in our corner, our mum and the school, supporting and pushing us to do it.”
Their 58-year old mum, Victoria Genfi also said she is super proud of the twins.

“I can’t put into words how proud I am or how wonderful they are. We’ve come a long way,”
She added: “I believe that no matter what background you come from if you push your children and support them through everything, they can achieve anything.”
