Beverly Afaglo Begs for MoMo Donations After Fire

We all saw this coming, didn’t we?

Actress Beverly Afaglo and her family are soliciting for mobile money donations from the public after fire gutted her house to ashes.

A press statement from the management of the actress says Ghanaians have been clamouring to help her recover from her tragedy hence they are dropping their MoMo numbers for those who want to help to send in their coins.

The statement read in part: “Management wishes to inform the public that the actress appreciates all the love and concern pouring in from friends and fans. The good news is there were no casualties. The actress and her family are well albeit devastated.

“Management has since been inundated with calls from fans, well-wishers and colleagues in the industry, many whom have expressed willingness to offer support to the actress at this difficult time. Hence account numbers have been added to this release after a consensus, for all and sundry who would want to make donations to aid the actress to recover from this tragic loss. We would like to state emphatically that this decision is Management’s and not the actress’.

“Once again, thank you all for the love and support. Both Management and Beverly sincerely appreciate them.”

They then dropped a MoMo number and account number for donations to be sent to.

I’m yet to meet these Ghanaians clamouring to help aside her own celebrity friends.

When Ghanaians cannot make ends meet and try to fight those in power to make life better, these celebrities sit on the sideline and use their platforms for f*ck all but the moment trouble strikes they come to beg the same people for money.

We don’t call for tragedy on anyone but if you refuse to help fight for better living conditions of Ghanaians where are they supposed to find money to help when you’re in need?

All the selfish celebrities can contribute to help each other in trouble but for the ordinary Ghanaian, or their ‘fans’ as the statement calls them – it’s going to be hard to jump on helping any of these apathetic celebs.
