Nigerian afrobeat superstar, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has given an account on how he got to collaborate with American rap star Nicki Minaj on his song, ‘Holy Ground.’
In 2020, Davido dropped a masterpiece album ‘A Better Time’ which featured Nicky Minaj on a song titled ‘Holy Ground.’
Fans applauded his team for making the collaboration happen but Davido has narrated what led to the project.
The Afrobeat star revealed speaking in an interview on Power 106FM that he had never met the Grammy award winning superstar before they worked together on the track.
Davido recalled that he slid into the DM of Nicki Minaj looking for something else but their conversations developed into them working on a song.

He said Nicky replied his messages agreeing to work with him and asked Davido to send his song for a verse.
Davido added that Nicki Minaj recorded and sent her verse back to him in less than two days and the rest is history.
Davido has been accused on social media as a Casanova who uses his father’s money and his fame to sleep around with women.
We do not know if he was trying to hit on Nicki Minaj but his attempt gave birth to a good song, he should do that often.
