Justice for Ini Umoren – Akpan Pleads Guilty to Murder, Does Not Plead Guilty to Rape

In April, news hit that Ini Umoren, a young Nigerian girl who went out in search of a job opportunity was murdered on arrival at her interview destination.

She was first reported missing on social media by her friends until the news broke out that she was killed.

It was not long after that when people started to point fingers at the shameless Uduak Apkan as her potential killer.

Uduak Akpan later confessed to the killing of Ini Umoren after he cooked up the fake job interview which lured the Akwa-Ibom graduate to the location of her murder.

He has since pleaded guilty to the murder.

He was arranged before the state high court judge in Uyo, Nigeria. Miss Umoren Ini was unfortunately raped and killed by Uduak Akpan whom the police describe as a serial rapist.

This man is allegedly a part of a gang of murderers and rapists who rape, kill and sell body parts of girls to ritualists.

This is a particularly very sad story as the young girl was just trying to make an honest living and utilize her degree of expertise.

No one deserves to go through any of these things and the Nigerian laws should see to it that he is convicted of every crime he has committed and punished severely.

A young vibrant asset to Nigeria was taken away for the very selfish and barbaric gain of one brainless individual.

She was buried in Akpan’s family house where she was murdered.

His father is said to be an accomplice to the act and was also arranged before court. They however pleaded not guilty to the charge of rape which leaves many in awe as to who the rapist is then.

The case is still being prosecuted and hopefully thorough justice will be served. Fingers crossed.
