Not Just An Alleged Cheat But A Liar? – Social Media Slams Dag Heward-Mills for Allegedly Lying In Apology to Otumfour

Social media is accusing Bishop Dag-Heward Mills of allegedly lying in his apology letter to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The Bishop was caught pants down in a bad situation last week, after an audio of him raining insults on the Asantehene was played on Net 2 TV.

In the said audio, Dag Heward-Mills was in a private meeting with some pastors and leaders of his church when someone secretly recorded him mercilessly insulting Otumfour.

He alleged that Otumfour Osei Tutu sleeps around – he noted he travels to sleep with different women and currently has a chain of women who warm his bed.

According to the man of God, Otumfour is not leaving any legacy for the Ashanti people, yet, they call him King Solomon and he parades himself as the most powerful king and all he does is celebrating events.

Bishop Dag Heward-Mills went on to state that Ghana has the most useless kings in the world!

Heward-Mills’ harsh words angered people, forcing him to issue an apology.

In his apology, the Lighthouse pastor claimed that a 20-year old audio was maliciously reshared by his enemies.

“I am deeply saddened that a message I shared at a conference, nearly 20 years ago, has been taken out of its context and circulated by persons who have previously declared that they will maliciously cause our churches in Kumasi to be closed down. I wish to apologise to His Majesty, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, for any disrespect, insult or harm caused him or his royal court.” the statement read.

However, social media users are not buying the claim that the post was from 20 years ago.

In a comment we’ve spotted, one person noted that he spoke about extravagant funerals in the audio, meanwhile the last big Ashanti funeral featuring such extravagance was only five years ago when the queenmother died.

Others have also stated categorically they do not believe the audio is that old.

Heward-Mills also mentioned that the Asantehene fills stadiums to celebrate his anniversaries on the throne – something that was done in 2009 for his 10 year anniversary.

Heward-Mills has been accused of being a cheat by some former pastors – now social media users are also adding the title of liar to his name!
