On air personality Adu Safowaa has responded following allegations levelled against her for failing to honour a promise to an amputee.
Adu Safowaa allegedly pledged to give the winner of her awards show, the ATEA awards, an amount of money to help their business.
Richard Asodji, an amputee shoemaker, won the award for the Golden Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2020 ATEA Awards.
The All Africa Entrepreneur Awards (ATEA) is organized by Aketesia Group, which is owned by the loudmouthed Adu Safowaa.
Safowaa reportedly pledged to pay Ghc 1,000 to Asodji with Ghc 4,000 being pledges from other celebrities present concerned about Richard’s condition.
However, close to a year down the line and Richard is yet to receive the cash injection to help his business.
Reports from a close source says Richard has not received his money. The source adds that none of the celebrities who pledged the cash or Safowaa herself even check on the amputee.
The story has been making waves all day but Adu Safowaa has now responded to it.
She hasn’t responded directly to the post but rather elected to play publicity games.
Safowaa shared a post about her award scheme, promoting the 2021 edition of the award.
The cloud of scandal surrounding it is of no concern to her.
She wrote: “To the blogs, please tag @atea_awards, We on @aketesia_group can’t market our 4th Edition alone. We need your able blogs please. Thank you. Regardless of the News you circulate, you can’t STOP OUR 4th edition.”
