Tears Flow As 14-Year-Old SHS Student Hangs Herself in School Dining Hall Over Suspected Broken Heart

A 14-year old student of the Miracle JHS in Sunyani has committed suicide.

Leticia Kyere Pinaman reportedly hung herself in the school’s dining hall whilst her colleagues where attending a function in the school’s auditorium.

According to reports from UTV, she left a suicide note explaining that there’s too much sorrow in her heart.

It’s not clear what exactly led to this sorrow but social media users point out it could be a broken heart.

Her suicide note read: “There is too much sorrow and pain in my heart,”

It’s sad that such a young soul has been lost to suicide. She was probably dealing with issues her young mind found too difficult to handle.

Mental health is another thing we take for granted in Ghana but which is so crucial, especially for teenagers in a high pressure situation like SHS.

From the little I’ve garnered from movies, most U.S schools from a young level have guidance counselors. What’s the equivalent to that in Ghana?
