The final nomination list for 2021 VGMA was released over the weekend. Two of Ghana’s big acts, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale did not make the list.
Prior to the announcement, the awards scheme made it public that they had lifted the Ban placed on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for their behavior on in 2019.

They called out the scheme for not going through the proper means to lift the ban but only did so to get public approval for this year’s awards. Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were omitted from this year’s awards again and Stonebwoy has reacted.
The dancehall artiste said in an Instagram post that the only guarantee an artiste needs in the industry is by staying true to his/her craft. He added that awards are a plus but not the only validation to stardom.

Stonebwoy concluded that musicians should stay away from people who do not recognize their hard works but only aim at satisfying their broken esteems and egos.
