Top 10 African Presidents Who Are Too Old And Should Retire Immediately

Africa, according to research, is one of the continents with the youngest populations but such a continent holds something in common, the aging and long-serving presidents.

Malawi’s self-proclaimed president for life, Hastings Banda, was in his late 90s when he was ousted from office in 1994. Until his death in 2019, Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe was the oldest leader in the world aged 95 years.

Many questions run in my head after my President Nana Akuffo Addo turned 77 and still in active service. He, compared to other African leaders, seem to be one of the youngest in office, which is sad.

Leaders who ought to be enjoying their retirement in peace and quiet are still in office weighing down the continent. It appears the citizens are not bothered by the age of the people they vote into power to govern them.
