All Black People Wore Dreadlocks Before Slavery – Mother Of Rasta Boy Denied Admission Into Achimota School Speaks Out

The mother of one of the young Ghanaian boys denied admission into Achimota School for wearing dreadlocks has finally spoken out.

Maana Myers, in a post on Facebook has hit out at Ghanaians for judging her son as immoral and a ‘kubolor’ just for sporting dreadlocks.

According to her, the son is very affable, intelligent and respectful.

She posted in reaction to an insulting comment from a social media troll known as Sampson.

She wrote: “Sampson Avinu shame to hear you say such derogatory stuff without any concretes fact.

What do you know about Rasta or dreadlocks. Dreadlocks is a cultural identity which all black people had before slavery when we started using shave sticks and blade.

The same white man who says black is bad is the same one who made us hate our hair so our women can’t leave thier natural kinky hair but have to wear weaves.

My son is very affable, intelligent, respectful and gentleman. Sad he was turned away from Achimota school like a plague.

Don’t judge anyone by thier looks but your experience with them. For lack of knowledge my people perish, black man know thyself.“

On Friday, news went viral that two rasta students had been denied admission into Achimota School due to having dreadlocks.

The school says its against policy to have students not cutting their hair but the family says they cannot violate their religious beliefs and slammed the school for discimination.
