Scam Alert – Watch Out for This Reported Ghana Police and Bolt Scam When You Order Bolt

There’s apparently a new Bolt/Ghana Police scam in town.

A Ghanaian social media user identified as Simeon Aryee alleges there’s a new scam in town between Ghana police and Bolt Drivers.

This is how it works.

Aryee alleges he ordered a Bolt around the Allied Filling Station in East Legon when he was scammed.

According to him, the driver is working in conjunction with the police and has planted marijuana in the car.

The police officer found the weed and pinned it on the passenger.

After being harassed, he had to pay Ghc 1,000 before the police allowed him to leave. Throughout that time the driver was quietly sitting down and said nothing, the police officer also asked the driver nothing although the weed was found in his car.

Aryee says he believes the driver was working in tandem with the officer based on how he behaved and how the officers behaved towards him.

“Dear Bolt,This driver on your platform works with the Ghana Police to setup innocent citizens. Today around Allied Filling Station, East Legon – Ghana Police found marijuana in his car and pinned it on us. Ghana Police pinned the marijuana on us and the Bolt driver was silent throughout the whole process of intimidation and threats. They collected 1,000 cedis. Ghana Police is NOT YOUR FRIEND!” he posted on Facebook.

Apparently, this is a new scam in town one has to watch out for.
