LGBT+ Rights Ghana Raises $37,000 to Buy A New Office After Rented Office Was Shut Down

The LGBT community in Ghana is fundraising to raise funds to purchase a new office in the country – and it’s going extremely well.

LGBT+ Rights Ghana has raised over $37,000 out of a stated goal of $100,000 to fund the purchase of a new office in Ghana.

Their former office was shut down by the police after a huge public outcry over its opening.

It turned out their own landlord had played a part in getting them shut down.

The group is thus now trying to raise enough money to buy an office space for themselves without being beholden to any possibly homophobic landlord.

A GoFundMe we’ve spotted on the group’s page towards this goal has raised over $37k as at this time.
