The president Nana Akufo-Addo and the first lady of Ghana has today taken their Covid-19 Vaccine to protect them from the virus.
Nana Akufo Addo and Madam Rebecca Akufo Addo received their injections at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra on Monday, March 1, 2021.

Before taking his jab, President Akufo-Addo said he decided to take the vaccine publicly to clear the doubts and encourage Ghanaians to vaccinate.
“I decided to take it [the vaccine] publicly to clear all doubts and urge everyone to also accept the vaccine.”

It’s important to state that this vaccine is safe by being the first to have it. So everybody in Ghana should feel comfortable about taking the vaccine. It is important that everybody at the end of the day is vaccinated. That is our objective,” he added.
The president also encouraged Ghanaians to keep up their fight against the deadly virus and thanked COVAX Facility for giving Ghana 600,000 doses of the vaccine.
Vice president Dr. Bawumia and his wife Samira bawumia also took their vaccine after the president.
