Dr Hushpuppi! Ghanaian Surgeon in the U.S Arrested for Defrauding Victims Over $29m

A Ghanaian surgeon in the United States faces over 10 years in jail after he made over $29m from a medical fraud scheme.

Dr Moses de-Graft Johnson reportedly found poor patients from deprived communities and used them for his medical insurance fraud claims.

He reportedly billed insurance companies and the Federal Government’s Medicare scheme for procedures he never performed on these poor people he was using for his scam.

He apparently made over $29m from this fraudulent practice which he run for years on Capital Health Plan, Medicare and other healthcare providers.

Dr Johnson was indicted in February and appeared before court December 18, pleading guilty to all charges against him.

He was charged with 56 counts of health-care fraud, conspiracy to commit fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

The Ghanaian doctor faces 10 years in jail as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.

Dr Johnson is reportedly infamous as the surgeon who saved the life of 50 Cent after he suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the year 2000.
