Mr. Victor Newman, Director of Research at the Presidency and a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has died, sources confirm.

Before his death, Mr. Newman worked as director of research at the Presidency under the Akufo-Addo administration. He was appointed in 2017.

He was said to have passed at the Legon Hospital in Accra on Thursday after a short illness.

Mr. Newman also worked at the Economic Research and Planning Services of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Western Castings Limited, and the Ghana Exim Economic Consultants prior to his appointment.

He is survived by a wife and four children.
