Argentinian football legend, Diego Armando Maradona, suffered a heart attack at home on Wednesday and the football world was met with the sad news of his death.
Maradona was renowned for his breathtaking playing ability. He won the World Cup with Argentina in 1986, after knocking England out in the quarter final with the infamous ‘Hand of God’ goal and another – later voted ‘Goal of the Century.’
As thousands of mourners pour onto the streets of Buenos Aires and Naples in Italy to honour Maradona, let’s recall some of his greatest and unforgettable times on the pitch as well as his unbeatable records.
He made 91 appearances for Argentina and won the FIFA World Cup in 1986. Maradona was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award.
