The Tema Regional Command of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has arrested a 20-year-old Favour Chidi for allegedly trafficking two Nigerian girls into Ghana for Prostitution.
The suspect was arrested at the border of the Western North Region of Ghana where she was attempting to smuggle the girls into the country undetected.

Head of Public Affairs of the GIS, Mr Michael Amoako-Atta, confirmed the arrest in an interview on Citi FM.
“our enforcement officers arrested her and brought the victim to our Tema Regional Command where their statements were taken.”
Favour Chidi is said to be part of a human trafficking syndicate that lure Nigerian girls with juicy promises and smuggle them into Ghana to take part in the night business.

Mr Michael Amoako-Atta added that the case has been forwarded to the appriopriate authrities and investigations have began.
“Looking at the nature of the trafficking issue, the Tema Regional Command has, as we speak, forwarded the victim and the suspect to the National headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution in the court. We are still doing an investigation, it looks like there are others that have to bring on board pertaining to this particular arrest,” he said.
